I’m the founder of a startup building
autonomous robotics for extreme environments (think Nuclear decommissioning, Offshore oil rigs, and Railways). We are at a stage where 50–100ms latency is the difference between a successful mission and a catastrophic hardware failure.
We’ve been searching for C++ devs with 3–4 YOE who actually enjoy the 'dark arts' of memory management, cache locality, and real-time system design. We’re offering
₹22
L (Base) + variable, which we thought was competitive for this experience level, but we’re hitting a wall.
It feels like the talent pool is split: everyone is either a 'Full Stack' dev or they are already locked into HFTs/EDA giants like Cadence and Mentor Graphics.
I’d love some honest feedback from this community:- Is ₹22L too low for this specific niche in the current market?
- Are we looking in the wrong places? (Where do the core systems folks actually hang out?)
- Does the 'Low Latency' tag automatically make people assume we're just another HFT firm?
We’re building robots that go where humans can’t. If you have advice on how to find the people who want to build the 'brains' for these machines, I'm all ears.
Thanks for the help!
