ROLE The Information Security Lead exists to make security an operating discipline across ACQ, with clear ownership for information security operations, incident readiness, risk, and the ongoing operation of ISO 27001 and ISO 42001. ACQ holds data from thousands of client businesses and uses AI across its products and internal operations. We've established foundational identity controls, and we're moving from certification readiness into the daily work of keeping our management systems effective, our risks visible, and our response capabilities ready. This is a hands-on, founding information security role with its deepest ownership in GRC and security operations. You will build repeatable operating systems, lead investigations, and provide an independent view of risk. You will also bring enough technical depth to review application and infrastructure code, understand attack paths, and work with engineering owners on practical code remediation. You will report to the IT Systems Manager, partner daily with platform, application, and AI engineering, collaborate with Legal on privacy, and work with the CTO as an executive sponsor of the function. RESPONSIBILITIES - Operate the ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 management systems through continuous evidence collection, risk management, control testing, internal audits, management reviews, corrective actions, and surveillance audit preparation. - Build and run security operations across centralized logging, detection engineering, alert triage, incident response, security investigations, insider-risk escalation, tabletop exercises, and post-incident improvement. - Own the information security operating model, including policies, standards, risk acceptance, vulnerability governance, quarterly leadership reporting, security awareness, and the roadmap for maturing the function. - Lead identity, access, vendor, and data-protection controls through privileged-access governance, quarterly reviews, third-party assessment, classification, retention, deletion, and clear boundaries between operating companies. - Provide independent technical assurance across applications and cloud systems by reviewing architecture, application code, infrastructure-as-code, IAM policies, CI/CD workflows, and material vulnerabilities with the engineers who own remediation. - Establish security and governance controls for AI systems, including inventories, impact assessments, model and tool access, agent permissions, prompt-injection and data-exfiltration risks, audit trails, and tested shutdown mechanisms. REQUIREMENTS - 7+ years of information security experience, including experience operating ISO 27001 programs. Active CISSP certification, or eligibility and commitment to obtain it within six months of hire, is required; ISO 42001 and CGRC experience are preferred. - Experience remediating security incidents, including practical experience building logging, monitoring, and detection capabilities. - Ability to read and write code, ideally in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, to identify potential attack paths, assess vulnerabilities, and recommend code-level fixes. - Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform, cloud IAM, and deployment workflows. - Knowledge of AI and agentic systems, with experience establishing practical security controls for their use. - Experience serving as a foundational or sole information security owner is highly preferred. RESULTS - ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 operate on a continuous cadence, with current evidence, tested controls, reviewed risks, and corrective actions ready for surveillance audits. - Security signals are centralized and actionable, incident procedures are rehearsed, investigations are handled with clear ownership, and lessons produce verified control improvements. - Leadership receives a plain-language quarterly view of material risk, overdue remediation, control effectiveness, accepted exceptions, and the decisions or investment required. - Privileged access is reviewed quarterly, identity lifecycle controls are auditable, critical vendors are assessed before receiving company data, and data-handling expectations are implemented in the systems that matter. - Application and cloud findings have named engineering owners and deadlines, technical reviews happen early enough to change designs, and remediation is validated rather than closed on assertion. - AI systems have a current inventory, defined owners and access boundaries, completed impact assessments, traceable activity, tested shutdown controls, and a prioritized plan for scaling the information security function. SCHEDULE - Full-time, standard Pacific Time business hours, Monday through Friday. - Flexibility to support security incidents and critical business needs. LOCATION - Remote, USA. - Some travel to Las Vegas will be required. COMPENSATION - $200,000-$225,000 base salary. - The salary range may be inclusive of several levels applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is inclusive of base salary only and does not include benefits. BENEFITS: We offer a comprehensive, evolving benefits package designed to support your health, family, and wellbeing. Some key offerings: - Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off and Company-wide Holidays - Employer sponsored Medical, Dental, & Vision plans - $1,950 annual Employer HSA contribution - FSA options including dependent care - Employee assistance program and mental health resources - Employer match program for 401(k), eligible for both Traditional and Roth accounts - $1,200 annual wellness reimbursement through JOON / that supports health, family care, pet care, fitness, and more! - For local or visiting team members, enjoy access to a state of the art gym at our HQ in Las Vegas * Benefits eligibility applies only to full-time exempt roles. ACQ CORE VALUES: Our core values are the heart and soul of this incredible company. ROLE helps businesses scale. We hold data from thousands of client businesses, including company profiles, purchases, product usage, and live connections to bank, CRM, and advertising accounts. Our founders have said the company must be data-first before it can be AI-first. This role makes that true. We are hiring our first Director of Data, the first leader solely accountable for the data function. Three Senior Data Engineers and a half-time analyst run the warehouse, single-client-record pipelines, and reporting used by Finance and Leadership, supporting two client-facing products in daily use. What is missing is one owner for accurate numbers, one reliable client record, AI-ready data, and one data program. The mandate is to make data reliable and usable by people, products, and AI systems. You own the data platform, single client record, governed business metrics, and data used to train, evaluate, and ground AI systems. You lead the team and data quality program while remaining hands-on enough to write SQL, inspect models, and diagnose failures. You report to the CTO; Platform owns infrastructure and application engineering; AI Engineering owns model architecture and runtime; and you own the data those systems train on, evaluate against, and retrieve from. The existing team reports to you on day one, and you set the standards every data-producing team must meet. RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the data platform end to end, including the warehouse, ingestion, transformation, semantic layer, orchestration, observability, vendors, and cost. - Build the governed data systems behind production ML and LLM products, including versioned training, evaluation, feature, and retrieval datasets, embeddings and vector indexes, and controls for labeling, lineage, leakage, drift, and retrieval quality. - Establish one authoritative client record across source systems with identity resolution, field-level provenance, and enforceable data contracts. - Create the governed metrics layer and data quality program that Leadership and Finance use, including one definition per metric, published freshness standards, automated reconciliation, and named ownership by domain. - Enforce privacy and access controls in the data layer with Security and Legal, including retention, deletion, cataloging, lineage, and boundaries between operating companies and partners. - Lead the data team as one program through a published roadmap, clear operating cadence, documented on-call, talent development, and hands-on technical leadership when the work requires it. REQUIREMENTS - 8+ years of data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform experience, including leading a data function and directly managing senior engineers; experience as a company's first or primary data leader is preferred. - Hands-on experience building or rebuilding a modern cloud data stack, with advanced SQL skills and practical experience with warehouse architecture, data modeling, transformation, orchestration, and observability. - Experience owning data systems used by production ML or LLM products, including versioned training, evaluation, and retrieval datasets, embeddings and vector search, labeling, leakage prevention, drift monitoring, and retrieval-quality evaluation. Must be able to explain how data quality decisions affected model performance in production. - Experience building a customer master or identity resolution model across multiple source systems, including matching logic, survivorship rules, and field-level provenance. - Experience delivering governed business metrics used by executives and Finance, including automated reconciliation, published data-quality standards, clear remediation ownership, and the ability to explain data tradeoffs in plain language. - Experience implementing data governance and privacy controls, including retention, deletion, lineage, role-based access, and working knowledge of CCPA and CPRA; financial transaction or multi-entity data experience is preferred. RESULTS - Within 60 days, publish one data roadmap, review it monthly with the CTO and quarterly with the founders, and assign an owner to every data initiative. - AI assistants answer the top 20 leadership metric questions; every AI product has a team-owned evaluation set; and no model ships without testing it with AI Engineering. - The client record covers every active client, core fields are at least 95% complete, connected-source data uses the same model, and every material field has provenance. - Every executive KPI and Finance statement uses governed metrics; reconciliation runs weekly; unmatched payment volume falls below 1% from $ million; and critical failures are detected within one hour and resolved within one business day. - Retention and deletion are automated, deletion requests complete within 45 days with an audit record, and warehouse access is reviewed quarterly. - Every data engineer has a level, growth plan, and on-call; no critical pipeline depends on one person; and platform spend and unit cost are reported monthly. SCHEDULE - Full-time, standard Pacific Time business hours, Monday through Friday. - Flexibility to support security incidents and critical business needs. LOCATION - Remote, USA. - Some travel to Las Vegas will be required. COMPENSATION: - $250,000-$275,000 base salary + 15% performance bonus max. - The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below). HEALTH CAN’T WAIT. Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t. Alan exists to end the wait. Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way. So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience. We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR. Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond. ⭐️ THE FOUNDING SALES OPPORTUNITY We are looking for our first-ever Sales hire in Saudi Arabia — a rare founding opportunity to build Alan's commercial practice in the Kingdom from the ground up. You will be Alan's flag-bearer in KSA: the person who shapes how we sell, who we sell to, and how we build relationships with companies that want to offer their employees a truly great health experience. This is not a role for someone looking for a well-defined playbook to execute. It is a role for someone who wants to write the playbook — and who has the experience to do so. ⭐️ YOUR MISSION You’ll own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to discovery, demo, offer building, and closing. At Alan, Account Executives drive deals and close strategic opportunities with prospects. We sometimes handle some customer relationships to ensure the best possible onboarding. You’ll educate prospects, provide inspiring product demos, and onboard key stakeholders, making the transition from prospect to customer seamless. We expect you to understand and apply the Alan Smart & Soft selling method This method ensures the prospect experience is an integral part of the overall Alan customer experience—making it pleasant and delightful for everyone. We expect you to be instructive to prospects (Smart), as well as to define the best personalized high-touch strategy that suits best each prospect (Soft). You’ll also help us grow and improve as a company, challenging us to enhance our product(s), methods, and strategy, and getting involved in initiatives to expand our customer base. As Founding Sales for KSA, you will also: - Build Alan's local presence with HR Directors, CFOs, and C-level decision-makers at companies who care about their employees' wellbeing - Act as the eyes and ears of the company in KSA — feeding market intelligence, prospect feedback, and local insights back to the product and strategy teams - Shape the sales function in KSA — setting the rituals, tools, and standards that future teammates will build on - Evangelize Alan's approach in the market, positioning Alan as a trusted and innovative health partner for Saudi employers - Contribute to Alan globally — leveraging and enriching the playbooks built in France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada ⭐ IS IT YOU WE’RE LOOKING FOR? You’ll be a great fit if you: - Are currently allowed to work legally for any employer in KSA, based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh - Have Saudi citizenship - Have 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the tech or SaaS space (you are familiar with product demos, discovery frameworks, complex deal cycles) - Have demonstrated the ability to prospect, close, and build — not just manage existing accounts - Are highly autonomous — you thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and don't need a fully built machine to be effective - Have native or fluent Arabic - Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English - Are analytical, organized, and rigorous — you manage your pipeline with precision - Have empathy — you genuinely care about understanding and solving the problems of the companies and people you work with - Are not driven primarily by commissions — you are motivated by impact, ownership, and long-term value creation For this opportunity, we are aiming to hire within the C1-D level range If you're still wondering whether this could be the best move for you, take a look at this article from Lucie Leflour, our Sales Lead in France. EVERYTHING ELSE IS A PLUS. WE CARE ABOUT HAVING A DIVERSITY OF EXPERIENCES, PROFILES AND BACKGROUNDS IN OUR TEAM. 🙌 PERKS & BENEFITS At Alan, we believe that being in good health is a basic need, and it starts with our employees. This is why Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high-quality time with co-workers. Therefore, we offer: - Competitive base salary — above market, no commission model. We believe in paying well and trusting people to do great work - Meaningful equity — you are building this from scratch, and you should share in what you create - A world-class team to lean on — you won't be alone. You'll have the full support of Alan's international sales, product, and operations teams - Alan's health coverage (of course 😊) - The tools to do your best work — MacBook, the best software, and an environment built for focus - Real ownership and impact — you are not a cog in a machine. You are the machine. - All the tools you need. Top of the range equipment: Macbook Air, keyboard, laptop stand, monitor, and Bose noise-canceling headphones. - Flexible vacation policy and flexible working hours. Organize your time as you wish. - Learning & Training opportunities. A highly flexible training policy free books and budget to attend and speak at conferences if the opportunity arises. - Personal growth through coaching: At Alan, coaching isn't just a perk - it's core to who we are. Every Alaner is paired with a dedicated coach from day one, who helps maximize their impact, nurture engagement, and navigate Alan's values to develop their full potential. Learn more about our coaching culture IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES. If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learnings or success. Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We'll be thrilled to receive your application! 🔖 Check out our About Alan and Career pages, as well as our Medium blog / and Glassdoor page for more info.
