Data Annotation Specialist, Safety
CohereCanada
Who are we? Our mission is to scale intelligence to serve humanity. We’re training and deploying frontier models for developers and enterprises who are building AI systems to power magical experiences like content generation, semantic search, RAG, and agents. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI. We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. We like to work hard and move fast to do what’s best for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are passionate about their craft. Each person is one of the best in the world at what they do. We believe that a diverse range of perspectives is a requirement for building great products. Join us on our mission and shape the future! Why this role? We are on a mission to build machines that understand the world and make them safely accessible to all. Data quality is foundational to this process. Machines (or Large Language Models to be exact) learn in similar ways to humans: by way of feedback. By labeling, ranking, auditing, prompting, red teaming, and correcting output, you will improve Large Language Model’s performance for iterations to come, thus having a lasting impact on Cohere’s tech. Cohere is looking for Data Annotation Specialists with backgrounds and skills in Trust & Safety, Content Moderation, AI model evaluation, or related fields. This role is best suited for candidates who bring strong contextual judgment, cultural and bias sensitivity, and experience applying nuanced guidelines to complex or ambiguous content. Successful candidates will be highly detail-oriented, comfortable evaluating safety risks across different user intents and scenarios, and able to make consistent, well-reasoned decisions with a high degree of independence after onboarding. IMPORTANT CONTEXT ON THIS ROLE: In this position, you will be asked to engage with human-generated and model-generated tasks which will sometimes mean intentional exposure to explicit content. Your annotations on these explicit tasks will be used to prevent the Large Language Model from generating unintentional, adversarial, toxic, or unsafe outputs. The types of explicit content you may be exposed to may include but are not limited to those of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature. Please Note: This is a part-time, remote, independent contractor position available within Canada or the United States. We seek candidates who are able to commit to 16 hours per week minimum at a 45 CAD/hour or 40 USD/hour contract rate, depending on your location, consisting of 30/hour base pay plus 15 CAD or 10 USD/hour hazard pay. This role is BYOD 💻 - Bring Your Own Device (laptop). 12 months contract with potential for extension. As a Data Annotation Specialist on safety task, you will: - Evaluate and improve model safety: Label, rank, audit, and refine human- and model-generated text to improve safety, quality, and policy alignment, including content that may be sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing. - Apply nuanced safety judgment: Assess model outputs against detailed safety guidelines, rubrics, and style standards, making consistent decisions across ambiguous, sensitive, and context-dependent cases. - Create prompts and safety test cases: Write realistic prompts, user scenarios, and adversarial examples that help evaluate model behavior across safety categories and uncover unsafe, evasive, over-refusing, or policy-inconsistent responses. - Support quality and calibration: Identify annotation inconsistencies or unclear guidelines, and provide actionable feedback on recurring edge cases, model failures, and opportunities to improve data quality. - Work with precision and independence: Complete annotation tasks with strong attention to detail, while being comfortable working independently in a globally distributed, asynchronous team environment. You may be a good fit if you have: - 1+ years of experience in Content Moderation,Trust and Safety, AI data annotation, LLM evaluation, or a related analytical role, with exposure to quality assurance, red teaming, and/or prompt engineering preferred. - Experience applying detailed guidelines to complex and sensitive content, with strong contextual and sociocultural judgment and the ability to recognize and manage personal bias. - Emotional resilience: Comfort working with content that contains unsafe, explicit, and/or toxic content, including content of a sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing nature. - Excellent command of written English and the ability to clearly justify content evaluations, including why an output is safe, unsafe, high-quality or low-quality. Bonus points if you are fluent in another language! - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, with the ability to maintain consistency across high-volume and monotonous tasks. - Strong execution in a remote environment, including good time management, comfort using new tools, and the ability to work independently in a global, asynchronous team. The Candidate Journey: Initial Screening - Once you have submitted your application our Talent Team will review your resume and writing samples. Virtual Annotation Test - This assignment will test your written skill through various language-based tasks, such as a a writing sample, interacting with a chat bot, and more. Video Screen - If selected to move forward, you will have a short video call with a member of our Operations Team! Offer - Independent Contractor Agreement As an independent contractor, you maintain control over how you complete your work and may work with multiple clients simultaneously, although we ask you to declare if any of these are with a direct competitor of Cohere and maintain IP confidentiality of the Cohere project. Independent contractors are not eligible for health benefits or other benefits provided to employees. Compensation for services is provided to contractors by contractors invoicing for services provided pursuant to the terms of our agreement with the contractor. It is important to understand that as an independent contractor, continuous work is not guaranteed. The client-contractor relationship is fundamentally project-based, meaning engagements may be temporary, periodic, or intermittent based on our organizational needs and project availability. As an independent contractor, you should anticipate fluctuations in workflow and therefore compensation for services when Cohere does not require as many hours of services in a week. Prospective candidates, please be advised: this role involves working with human generated and model generated tasks that may involve exposure to not safe for work (NSFW) text content as part of data annotation tasks, including explicit, offensive, or other inappropriate material. If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form and we will work together to meet your needs.

Financial Controller - Disability and Life Insurance
AlanParis, France
HEALTH CAN’T WAIT. Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t. Alan exists to end the wait. Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way. So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience. We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR. Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond. 📈 FINANCE COMMUNITY AT ALAN Finance & Strategy exists to enable better decisions, faster, at every level of the company, in a regulated, diverse and ever-changing business. We succeed when ambitious goals become credible plans, when strategic bets are grounded in financial reality, and when the entire company (not just Finance!) speaks the language of performance. We set the right ambition, we monitor whether we're getting there, and we raise our hand when something needs to change. We are not record-keepers. We are builders, partners, and challengers. We are looking for people who want to build, support decision-making processes and challenge the status quo. The core responsibilities of the Finance & Strategy community are: - Strategy & Planning: steers Alan's financial performance through business planning, financial and operational monitoring, investor relations and financing - Financial Reporting: is the steward of Alan's financial truth, ensuring that we produce accurate, timely financial data. It owns the reporting to all key stakeholders (board, leadership team, tax authorities, and regulators like the ACPR) and ensures that financial data is the single, uncontested source of truth for the company's performance - Finance Data and Operations: Build and own the core finance data and tooling infrastructure (models, pipelines, and concepts that connect business operations to financial reality). This is where Finance meets product thinking - Functional poles with end-to-end ownership of their domain: Treasury, Procurement, M&A ⭐️ THE INSURANCE CONTROLLER ROLE ⭐️ Our insurance scope is growing fast: more complex reinsurance treaties, prévoyance (disability and death cover) moving in-house, new products and markets. At the same time, Finance is taking over the Solvency 2 balance sheet, which will be audited from 2028. We’re looking for a rigorous, ownership-driven insurance finance professional to own our prévoyance technical flows and the production of the Solvency 2 balance sheet. You’ll join the Financial Controlling team (within Financial Reporting) and act as the hub between Risk, Actuarial, Ops, Data and Strategy, as well as the main contact for our reinsurers and external auditors. You’ll know these numbers inside out: how they’re produced, what business reality they reflect, and how to defend them to auditors, the ACPR and the Board. You read the source texts yourself (accounting rules, Solvency 2 regulation, treaty clauses), form your own view, and know when to escalate. ⭐️ WHAT YOU WILL DO ⭐️ - Prévoyance flows: own premiums, claims, technical provisions (mathematical and claims reserves) and related reinsurance, from P&L through balance sheet and cash - Reinsurance accounting: manage reinsurance accounts, quarterly settlements and profit-sharing clauses, making sure the books reflect what our treaties actually say - Solvency 2 balance sheet (solo and group): restate French GAAP to Solvency 2, challenge actuarial best estimates and risk margin, and track own funds quarter to quarter - Regulatory reporting: prepare balance sheet and own-funds QRTs and write the balance-sheet section of the SFCR - Audit readiness: be the single point of contact for auditors on Solvency 2, starting with the 2027 dry run, with documentation and controls always ready - Monthly review: analyse and comment on your scope (P&L, balance sheet, variances, loss ratio and other insurance KPIs) - Automation: turn manual computations into clear specs for our Finance Data team, and use data and AI to make closing faster and more reliable - Business partnering: flag the accounting and solvency impact of new products, treaties or markets early and follow through to implementation ⭐️ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR ⭐️ - At least 5 years in insurance accounting, ideally Big 4 insurance audit followed by finance or reporting at an insurer - Strong command of French GAAP insurance accounting (technical provisions, reinsurance, insurance P&L) - Hands-on experience with the Solvency 2 balance sheet and QRTs - Strong analytical skills: reconciling large datasets, bridging French GAAP to Solvency 2, spotting inconsistencies; comfortable with SQL and AI tools - Organised, rigorous and comfortable building structure from ambiguity; you close the loops and can explain technical topics to actuaries, auditors and non-finance stakeholders alike - Fluent in English and French Big pluses: prévoyance experience (long-term reserves, mortality/disability tables, profit-sharing), having built a Solvency 2 production process, actuarial knowledge, IFRS 17. 🌍 How we work - Location: You must be legally eligible to work from France. The role is based in Paris. - Remote work: We offer remote work flexibility, but we value in-person collaboration. 🎯 Important note: we hire people, not roles. - If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply, as it can only bring learnings or success. - If you identify yourself as a woman: Did you know that research shows women often apply only when meeting 100% of requirements? - Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We'll be thrilled to receive your application! You want to know more about Alan? - 🙌 Perks & Benefits Alaners are provided with a stimulating environment and perks ensuring they are happy, efficient and spend only high-quality time with co-workers. - 🤘 A strong culture People joining Alan are often surprised and delighted by our innovative working method. We have a set of cultural values that guide our approach to work. - 🔖 Check out our About Alan and Career pages, as well as our Medium blog / and Glassdoor page for more info.

Staff Product Designer - AI Products
KrakenUnited Kingdom
BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system. THE TEAM Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients. Forget crypto. Fintech/crypto are now one of the same. Come join us to lead Product Design for the building of elite AI products, end-to-end. A personal finance agent that shapes how people spend, save invest and live. You’ll have real ownership of the design work: the experiences you shape, and how they look, feel and behave. You’ll work directly with product, engineering and leadership, with no layers of process between you and the work. This is a rare 0→1 opportunity. The choices you make will shape the products and the people who use them. We’re a small, hardworking team that moves fast and ships with purpose. We’re straight-talking, no-nonsense, and deeply invested in the quality of what we build. We care about craft, we care about our customers, and we care about getting things right. If you’re excited by hard problems, high standards, no egos and the chance to build something genuinely new, climb aboard. THE OPPORTUNITY - Own design end to end: discovery, concept, prototyping, delivery and launch. You are the designer, with real ownership of the outcome. - Take products from zero to one, turning an early idea or a rough problem space into something real that people use. - Build new AI products for external B2C customers, and internal AI products that shape and redefine the way that Payward works. - Thrive in ambiguity. Define the problem, set the direction and make the call when nobody has handed you a brief. - Design for non-deterministic experiences, where outputs vary and the system doesn’t behave the same way twice. Shape how people interact with, understand and trust intelligent systems. - Create visually rich, forward-thinking work that sets new benchmarks for what AI products can look and feel like. - Partner directly with product, engineering and leadership, and influence strategy and roadmap decisions, not just execution. - Prototype fast to make ideas tangible, test them and learn, then move on to the next one. - Conduct user research and use customer insights, data and experimentation to decide what to build, and keep improving it after launch. - Hold a high bar for craft and user experience in everything you ship. WHAT YOU BRING - 7+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and impact. - A track record of taking products from zero to launch as the lead or only designer, owning the full design process end to end. - World class product thinking: Real comfort with ambiguity, you find direction when requirements are unclear, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and adapt as things change. - Experience designing for non-deterministic experiences, such as AI-powered, generative or probabilistic products, is highly desirable. - Strong UX and visual design skills, with a record of solving open-ended problems with clarity and elegance. - Advanced prototyping skills, with the ability to communicate complex interactions and ideas quickly. - Experience influencing product strategy and cross-functional decision-making. - Strong systems thinking, with the ability to create coherent, scalable experiences from scratch. Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution. We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. OUR COMMITMENT Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto. We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Results are considered alongside experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision. ABOUT RAMP Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves % and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it. ABOUT THE ROLE You'll join Ramp's travel team, which builds two products, Ramp Travel and Juno. Both integrate with a growing network of travel management company (TMC) partners. You'll be our expert on how those integrations work in practice: how content (search, booking and changes), payments, approvals, servicing and reporting flow between our products and each TMC. You'll own the operational side of each partnership, from the day it's signed through every customer that goes live on it. You'll work closely with engineering, our customer success managers, and the teams that sign new TMC partners and bring in customers through them, but you won't own those commercial relationships. Success means each new TMC goes live more efficiently than the last, mutual customers on each TMC go live faster and more smoothly over time as your playbooks improve, and the TMC servicing experience for Ramp and Juno travelers is seamless and delightful. The travel team is small and building quickly across both products, so everyone works beyond the edges of their role. Alongside your core work, you'll help wherever the team needs it most. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Build and refine our playbook for standing up a new TMC partner, and work with engineering to take each new TMC from signed partnership to its first live mutual customer. - For each live TMC, build the playbook for adding mutual customers and new points of sale, including in new countries and regions. Support CSMs when a rollout needs TMC-specific setup. - Investigate with engineering when bookings, payments or data don't flow correctly, and see fixes through with the TMC. - Train TMC agents who service accounts through our dashboards. For TMCs that use their own tools, make sure our workflows fit theirs. - Create SOPs for TMC agents to ensure they deliver top tier support for travelers. - Keep TMC partners up to date on product changes that affect them, and answer their agents' questions. - Always get to the why behind a TMC ask and make sure that it’s the best path forward. Just because something is done a certain way doesn’t mean that it’s the right or only way. - Actively track and analyze data to manage and measure the quality of the travel support experience offered by our partners. - Join partner review calls to represent day-to-day operations. - Identify the steps in your playbooks that can be automated or built into the product, and work with product and engineering to make that happen. - Take on work beyond your core role, such as joining Juno's customer support rotation, where you'll see firsthand how our partner integrations shape the customer experience. WHAT YOU NEED - 5+ years in implementation, partner operations, technical consulting, or a similar partner- or customer-facing technical role, ideally in travel technology, SaaS or fintech. - Corporate travel domain experience, such as working at a TMC or with GDSs (Sabre, Amadeus, Travelport), NDC content, or travel mid- and back-office systems. - Technical fluency to troubleshoot integrations and data flows across systems and hold credible conversations with engineers. Engineering depth is not required. - Experience managing external partners or vendors, and working cross-functionally with customer success, product and engineering. - Strong written communication, including the ability to train others and explain technical issues to nontechnical audiences. - AI fluency as a daily habit. Ramp is a builder culture: if you don't instinctively reach for AI before doing things manually, this role will be a hard adjustment. - Thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with a bias toward action and a high level of ownership. NICE-TO-HAVES - Technical fluency with APIs, integrations, debugging, or data analysis, even if you do not write production code. - Experience in B2B SaaS, travel, fintech, or another operationally complex product.
